There are no extreme variations in temperature in Chennai and the two main seasons are summer and monsoon. During the summer months (March to September) mean temperature hovers around 33 °C but it frequently soars to the mid and high 30’s. May and June are the hottest months and is definitely not the time to visit Chennai as mercury levels can exceed 40 °C on certain days.
